right now i have etime armor series case. it is alright but colored part is rubber instead of plastic like i thought.the stand for holster is also useless since can't put phone in holster screen out because case is too thick on back. I think CoverON makes a one similar to the one you linked for the 630, for the 640. I don't know if they have one in that color though.

I'm very satisfied with the J&D Ultra Slim case I got on amazon it's around 8 bucks and fits very nicely on the phone with no added bulk.

FYI i really like the case. plus it even looks better in person then on the photo.

looks kinda like the one i have now. the problem i have is the rubber seems little loose to me. i have the black one that has the matte finish. i hear it is thinner then the shiny one. also more slippery. i would take a big case that actually protects over something that is made more for looks it seems. seems to be hard to find something that actually protects the screen like the otter box defender i had for the iphone 3gs.

Does it seem that most 640 cases are designed to fit the glossy shells and not the matte? The 630/635 cases only seemed to fit the matte. I have the AT&T matte version of the 640, but it's easy enough to pick up a glossy shell, if that's what is needed to get a case to fit properly. I'm far too clumsy to risk going without a case for long...

I received a CoverOn clear, thin, hard cover yesterday, and it fits the matte shell fine. Although it may not offer sufficient protection for everyone's needs, at least there is one option available. They come in several colors, as well...

I went to the local Microsoft store and picked up the flip case cover (the one made by microsoft ) in matte black. Looks sharp and fits the phone perfectly.

Guess this may be helpful for someone who wants a colorful battery cover. I bought 2 from eBay.

The first one is the so called OEM version. It has glossy finish and looks similar to the official one, but the buttons are not sticking out enough. I feel the buttons are hard to access.

While the second one comes from the seller touchscreen2013 who has a rainbow collection, but now only the orange, purple and black ones are available. This orange cover is matte and has a nice rubber-like feel. The buttons work well for me. But I can still see from their online pictures the ones in some other colors don't have protruding buttons.

I hope the two pictures show the difference clearly.

I see and have experienced that myself. It wasn't worth it for me so they just went to the trash.

Here's my summary after trying five cases (on two phones):

I prefer the Evocel Dual Layer (mentioned by Guytronic at the beginning of this thread) with the Boxwave a close second. I also tried the Amzer Pudding, which was pretty good but a little loose, then came the poor-fitting Lightning Knight. The OEM MS Flip Cover is a different style case, but is really nice if you need that type.

Anyway I was sold on Guytronics recommendation based on this post. Went to buy but it says T-Mobil and Metro PCS. Damn, I'm AT&T. I don't know what the difference may be but I'm back to the drawing board

The difference is probably the shell. I have the AT&T variant, which has a matte shell. The others may have the glossy shells, which have an extra ridge around the sides. You can get a glossy shell for less than $10 if the case doesn't fit your shell.

I bought the Fosmon clear tpu case on eBay and it seems to fit well. In fact, I kinda had a hard time getting the case on. I also use a clear Fosmon on my 635; however, that case has yellowed pretty significantly over 6 months of use.

i got the MetroPCS one and the only one that they had in the store was a generic leather belt-clip pouch. Looks like the Microsoft store or online is our best bet to get accessories for this. On a side note did your phone come with Office 365? Mine only came with 30 GB of storage to OneDrive.

I bought the listed above and so far it seems to be OK[can't post links yet because I need at least 10 posts]. The quality isn't there but for the price I really shouldn't complain. The rubber on the blue part of the TPU seems to be coming apart and is developing little tears in it. See the volume rocker picture that I have uploaded. The belt clip is really nice though and seems to hold the phone firmly in place. I am not too concerned with drops on this case as well as I've accidentally "tested" this many times before....down the stairs and at various heights. Not sure if it is because of the phone being built good or the case is that nice but the phone is in great condition so far.

On a side note if anyone knows of a case that can give this phone a bit more premium feel like what I had for my Note 2 with an all aluminum case that almost mimicked the HTC One M8.

Or a larger battery like the zerolemon one.

Although the lack of accessories for this phone isn't necessarily a bad thing I will just save my money for when the 950 XL goes for sale and hope for a better set of accessories.

For anyone interested in pretty cases (or even some ones that say don't touch my phone LOL), I ordered one from this seller : iven-case @ Amazon.com: lumia 640

Someone left a review on one of them saying that it fits well, so I hope to find out in a bit. For $4.00, that isn't too much of a risk.
