Lumia 830 Bugs + Defects

On my glance screen, there's a battery saver icon next to the time that wont go away. I've tried soft reset and turning glance off and back on again and it still wont go away!
It happened to me too on a Lumia 720. It wasn't only the icon but the battery saver app stayed on even after turned the slider off. As a result, background sync stopped and button lights were off. I did a hard reset after all and now it is fine. Btw, I'm looking to change my Lumia 720 with an 830 but I am not convinced it is worth it. I'm still thinking.

I have already posted this somewhere but this is the official thread i will post it here.

is anyone finding the phone very hot. I mean on usage. My 830 start heating up on using it continously for 5 mins. Even if it is whatsapp or any other app. is it normal?? Also it turns very hot while charging. My phone never charges to 100 %. it will go till 98% and will go on charging even though ETA is 1 min or so.

I got my Lumia 830 from AT&T last week, first Windows phone (switched from iOS), and love it so far! I haven't noticed any of the issues mentioned so far, except that the Jedi hand wave on the glance screen doesn't work very well--but then, I didn't know it was supposed to be better! I figured it just wasn't able to respond to a gesture like that. Now I know to keep trying.

One oddity: every time I plug in the charger, it tells me that the phone is charging slowly, and that I should use the charger that came with the phone. The thing is, it IS the charger that came with the phone! Anybody have any insights on this?

GREAT forum by the way. Finding lots of good info from all of you, thanks!

It did tell me the same about the charger but I was using the one I got with the 920. When I started to use the one supplied with the 830, it stopped telling me that and indeed it charges much faster. Btw, my 830 is an unlocked UK one so things may differ. Try different sockets and chargers from other devices.

Is anybody able to get maps that you download saved to the SD card? I have setting set to save everything to the SD card and can't get maps to save there.

I have an issue where it'll randomly disconnect from Wifi, but still say it's connected in the status bar. If you turn off wifi and then turn it back on, it wont find any networks. It'll even just use cellular data when it says it's connected to wifi.

Turning airplane mode on/off fixes it.

Anecdote: said I was connected to my home wifi when I was halfway across town. I'm hoping this is a software problem.

Both my RM-984 and RM-985 have that issue. I can live with it, but I'm a little worried about the one random reboot a day on my RM-985.

Ring at headphone jack came off.
After airplane mode, it takes a while till connected to WiFi again.
After accepting call, they cant hear me for 1 second.
That's it

I guess the headphone jack ring coming off is not a question of "if" but only "when"!!

I don't even remember where I lost mine lol...

I don't know how about you but my battery is weird. In 20 minutes drop from 100% to 97% even if I send one message and don't do anything else and have phone in my pocket. But the phone lasts easily one day with heavy usage and in the evening still has about 40%.
