I think most of this is due to the radio to be honest. Just sitting idle in town with good LTE my battery drains at 1/4 the rate of at home with only 1-2 bars of LTE. I think it is programmed to search too aggressively for the fastest internet connections. If the phone automatically selected 2 or 3g while not in use the battery would last so much longer. the reality is you don't need the fastest connection while not in use anyway since all you need is low bandwidth for notifications. MS should reprogram the phone to do high speed only when it is being used. Nokia should look for more efficient radios as my Verizon windows phone didn't do this bad on battery even with poor signal.
