Lumia 920 battery - Your opinions

I need to seriously put a new battery in my 920, 4 hours into work and I have to put it on a charger. If I play a light game for about 10 minutes, I'll drop about 20% of my battery. It's kind of hilarious, but the phone is 2 years old now.

My battery was being horrible and I read somewhere here that you should only use nokia chargers to improve the life. So I set up my three little charging plates that I bought from AT&T for 10 bucks and I haven't looked back since! The battery last all day even with intense game playing. After about 13 hours away from home my battery had only dropped to 54 percent. Just for the record I have 8.1 and I was using a kindle charger to charge my phone before.

I'm pretty sure any charger that provides the proper voltage would work just fine.

I'm giving away my 720 to my mom and getting 920. Fingers crossed! :sweaty:
My 720 lasted for two days with average use, and one day when i used it a lot with data on.
Conclusion is that 920 has battery life like any other cell phone in that class (about 1 day)
or has major issues:
1) because of some apps or data, location and other stuff turned on all the time
2) faulty device

Here in the Dominican Republic we got Win Phone 8.1 + Cyan officially from Claro. Aside from some battery issues it has been great. It was not an OTA, I had to go to the carriers main office and have the phone flashed. The battery issue was apparent from the beginning, I tried everything. To my surprise by the third day the phone got better, I downloaded an app and got worse again. I let the phone sit and got better again. My only correlation between both times the battery drained fast was the downloading of apps. My phone lasts about 11 hours, a bit less than before the update.

Hi,
My Lumia 920 has been great since Nov 2012. Of late lot of battery doesn't stay long. I'm very conservative with all background tasks totally blocked and WiFi/ Bluetooth switched only when needed. I am aware of the technical issues, flight mode reset etc
Just wonder if anyone tried getting a new battery replaced.. through Nokia...they are so hard to find locally in UK and requires me to post the device!!.

Any ideas/ experiences?

LOL.....

Mine seems to have same problems although sometimes it surprised me with extra long and strong battery reserve. I have also blocked all apps, off wifi, etc.....

Only thing I still keep is the glance screen and double-tap function. If you observe carefully in total darkness, the whole screen is slightly lighted up, and I reckon this consumes battery. Placing your phone properly, securely overnight (do not put near or touching some other objects/reflections/etc = anything that can potentially trigger the screen to turn on) can also help to extend battery life, as this will not trigger the glance on and off.

If it does not help, reboot phone. If still cannot, let it run down and recharge full overnight.

I have noticed that Whatsapp and IE are big battery consumers..and that is what I pretty much use.

I did a hard reset yesterday on my l920 and started as fresh, reinstalled all my apps since I was not getting more than 15 hours at full charge.

After the hard reset, at full charge I had 1 day and 15 hours left, my last charge was 15 hours and 35mins ago (during the night) and I still have 1 day and 2 hours left (74%) BUT with a LIGHT use of whatsapp and a few texts, thus the phone is fine handling the BUILT IN SMS plataform but not the others app.

After the hard reset I still notice the extreme loss of Battery from Whatsapp, around 30% per hour, sometimes even more!

I have just started using BBm, I have too see if the battery loss is the same as Whatsapp.

But at least, the hard reset did improve my battery life! 15 hours at full charge vs 40 hours...

Just in case, I have everything blocked except Whatsapp and BBm. Wifi ON, Data OFF. Email set to Manually.

Re: lumia 920 Battery Issues

Woah, today I started the game called Hypernaut and as soon as the screen rotated I turned the volume down and then my 920 restarted itself, by the time it happened I was on 60% battery left, after the reboot the battery was 22% and I was like WTF dude?!

Re: lumia 920 Battery Issues

Seems like every time I restart my L920, the battery changes some...usually lower...just got the phone few weeks back too, but I have 8.1DP update 1 installed, so I just figured its something with that
