Person of interest thread

Micah Dawson was banned? When did that happen?

He shouldn't be banned. I asked the network mods to investigate, but I also asked them if I should contact him and ask about the other guy with the same IP who claims he doesn't know Micah.

I checked the reports & infractions and ban tracker and didn't see any bans on 10/15/2014. The latest was the self promotion spammer I just banned a few minutes ago.

I infracted S Vainhav for trolling. I'm also noticing salmanahad is stirring up quite a few arguments again.

Salman has rubbed so members the wrong way he's essentially a forum liability rather than an asset.

I really wish he would cool it with the "know-it-all" facts and figures postings.
He just can't leave the arguments alone.

A very driven type ... he just has to have the last word.

He's gone for good just based on points. I just hit him with a trolling infraction which put him at 230 points.

I tried to help him via PM communication, but he didn't listen.

S Vaibhav is gone for good now. I gave him a second chance after the multiple user name fiasco, but he's exhausted his chances now.

@Laura (primarily)

I've got a very minor dispute with tgp going, but need to involve you guys nevertheless. I recently infracted this post of his:

http://forums.windowscentral.com/wi...guy-gone-windows-phone-story-post2832590.html

I just wanted to give him a reminder to keep it clean, as I think he's been very well mannered lately, which is why I only gave him half the infraction points that disruptive posting would normally have earned him. A very civil exchange of PMs ensued, and he asked me to get feedback from the other moderators to see what you all think:

This is the line I object to from his post:

I would have thought that by now we would have seen reports comparing every aspect of the real world differences [HTC One vs HTC One for Windows]. I guess the Android users don't care, and the WP fans don't want to know! ;-)

I'm not objecting to his view of how Android might compare to WP on identical hardware. I am however objecting to him throwing the entire WPC community in the same boat. IMHO we're not all willingly ignorant people, who'd prefer to cover our eyes and ears to avoid seeing an uncomfortable truth. I think his generalization implies that we are, which I think is asking for trouble.

I realize that I'm being really strict here. I just think that is what tgp requires to keep him in check, then again, it's true that I'm not applying the same standards to everyone. I have no problem reversing the infraction if you guys think I'm going overboard here, but I too would be interested in what you think.

What's your call?

I agree with you. The way he worded it made it sound like he was stereotyping all Windows Phone users as being ignorant. I believe the infraction should remain, since he has been a troublemaker in the past. This might keep him in line.

It might be an idea to keep an eye on EBUK

New joiner, but talks like an established member. Might be our friend sideswitch again.

Just his registration email address looks like trouble.

EBUK.PNG

sideswitch isn't even banned as of now. His ban had expired.

Ok, thanks Laura. I guess if this new guy is a returned troll, he'll show his colours before too long.

I don't think the email address means much, web sites these days do tend to send spam/adverts/notifications that people would reasonably prefer not to appear in their inbox. A friend of mine has a separate email address for all web logins as he knows it's a spam magnet. I tend to use inbox rules to redirect/delete emails I don't want.

I think this user:
http://forums.windowscentral.com/members/erractic-lumia.htm

Is switchsidemethod.

Tipsoffs are:
Owns a 1520
Lives in the UK
Posted an original intro in the Ask a Question forum (I moved it to Introductions)
Used the emots as tho he is posting from mobile

Exact same MO as Suicide Stacey.

If this is switch side method I wonder why he won't just use his original account?

I think we should watch him and not ban until we are certain, based upon his activity, so we don't tip him off as to how we know.

Banned bodeanicus for his stereotypical comments about India in this thread.

http://forums.windowscentral.com/windows-phone-8-1/321668-losing-faith.html

Plus he also seems to be strongly pushing an anti-WP/MS agenda so even if it weren't for that comment he wouldn't have lasted long. He kinda reminded me of vetvito on XDA. In addition I'm also itching to close the thread, at any rate it needs to be watched.

Thank you!

He really has been nothing but trouble.

I'd been watching bodeanicus since he showed up.
His ban was coming...just a matter of time.

That "losing faith" thread is just more trouble waiting to happen.
Draws in the usual suspects.

I closed the thread after seeing how much cleaning Eric had to do and how downhill it went.

[h=1]TravisMcEndree needs to be watched due to: trolling, abuse of reporting, and backseat moderating. He was telling people how to post and then reporting their posts as spam if he didn't like how they posted.[/h]
