Thought it'd be fun to share our Windows Phone histories with one another. Doing so is simple, just follow the format I use below:

The 950 was so glitchy it pushed me to the Galaxy after all those years.

I bought a Nokia Lumia 830 about two years ago to the day.
Shortly after I bought it, it became obsolete.

Lumia 620 -> lumia 535 -> lumia 730 -> lumia 950.

After 620 was using Galaxy S5 for few months. But later I realised I cannot live with Android I switched to 535.
But few weeks back my Lumia 950 screen got cracked. Service guy is asking for 12k. M back to SGS5.

1. Lumia 900 was my first smartphone. I enjoyed it and found it to be a fresh alternative to the iPhones and Androids of the day.

2. I upgraded to the Lumia 1020. I'd still be using it today if it weren't for the shaky upgrade path to W10M. The camera can't be beat, and physically the thing is beautiful.

3. I purchased a Lumia 520 as a music player and a Lumia 640 as a W10M testbed, both for ~30 bucks.

4. I got a Lumia 950 right after the price drop, as W10M had improved enough on my 640 to warrant it, and my 1020 battery was starting to lose juice more quickly.

5. I am now awaiting delivery of a Sony XA1. I just got tired of crappy app performance (especially FB and Messenger), the lack of new first-party hardware, the horrendously confusing messaging coming from MS, and I wanted something that stood a chance of matching the 950's camera performance. My fingers are crossed.

Here's my windows phone history

Lumia 710 -> Lumia 521 -> Lumia 925 -> Lumia 640 (which I still have, though not currently using as a daily driver) -> Honor 5X (Android)

But prior to the 710, I had never used a Microsoft mobile device like Pocket PC or early versions of Windows Mobile. Here's the various PDA/smartphones that I had prior to the Lumia 710 (skipping various basic cellphones):

Newton MessagePad 120 (!) -> Palm III -> Palm Zire -> iPod Touch -> some Samsung Android phone that was the first Android phone on Virgin Mobile (USA), had a slide out physical keyboard. Hated it -> LG Optimus V
