U r correct buddy. MSFT didn't lost customers, as they were never.
I donot support not paying for apps at all. I was thinking that we were discussing policies rather than people's attitude.
Lets go off this discussion as i really hate to see that such people's thinking.

I think people on this thread have not factored in the different MS platforms. Their own platforms have different rules.

Windows 8.1 lets you share apps across accounts on the same device AND different devices (ie. 2 laptops) by letting you log in to the Store as another user. Why? Probably because there are a lot more PC/tablet users, so there is money to go around.

Windows Phone does not allow this across user accounts. Why? Probably because they are trying to draw developers to the platform and they don't want to limit the money they can make. Or, they just didn't get to it yet, like a lot of parts of WP.

FYI, I am a big WP fan and am a developer for it, but I personally think there should be a family sharing option. They already let you specify who is in your family in your MS account, so it is not that far fetched.

I assumed that sharing was just like it was on the Windows 8.1 store and iOS. This may change my plans as I was going to get my daughter a cheap Windows phone as a gift. I have already purchased the games she plays on my phone. If I have to rebuy them all the cheap gift just got much more expensive. Probably no way to transfer/gift purchased apps permanently to another account I'm guessing?

The worst part is that I've spent plenty of time talking my wife into going with a Windows phone as well while she was wanting to go with Apple. This will give her the chance to say "I told you so" and I hate that lol.
