My SP3 is in process, my red type cover (ordered later in a separate order) still shows backorder although I've been billed for both.

My card was just charged for my i7 Surface and cover (my personal Surface for home). That is a LOT earlier than the end of August!

I ordered the I7 at first but then changed my mind because I realized I didn't really need an I7 being that if I need a lot of processing power. I'll use my desktop for heavy duty needs like hardcore gaming or video / audio processing. The nerd in me wants the I7 but I'll be happy with the I5 256

I live in Colorado. Also, my bank and Microsoft both emailed me letting me know the the payment didn't go through. Chase thought it was Fraud due to the error in my billing address.

Same here. I actually have two on order - an i5 and an i7. Initially I ordered the i5, but then received a text coupon code for 5% off and used it to create an order for an i7, to see what the price was. Well, I went ahead and put it through, figuring I'd cancel one of them. Given that there are so many glitches with the online store CS, I decided to not cancel it until I have the i5 in my hands, for fear the wrong order get cancelled. Well, yesterday BofA threw a fraud alert on my i5 charge, and I updated the info and it went through on my BofA card (I had BofA CS on the phone while pushing it through). Then just a few minutes ago, I got notice that the i7 charge was rejected (this notice was from MS - it doesn't even show on my BofA card, so it just flat out rejected rather than throwing a fraud alert - grrrrr.) I've updated to a different card, and we'll see. Sounds like I might be returning a unit instead of cancelling and order. I run PhotoShop, so I'd prefer the i7 if I can get it. It wasn't important enough for me to wait two months though...

Why do you think this? Did someone tell you this? Or is this just an assumption. I don't think it's necessarily true, personally.

order date: 5/27. Education discount. + black type cover.

I couldn't get any answers from MS wrt shipping and it irritated the hell out of me since I'm going away for several days on saturday.

My order is still "in process" and no shipping notification has been sent although MS orders page states the policy: "A credit card is required for pre-order, but your card will not be charged until your order is shipped ." So if they've taken my money where is my notification that they've sent my product out that I've paid for? Not one rep would clarify what "ships by/on the 20th meant" with the explanation: "thats what our webpage states clearly." Well your same website says I get a shipping notification when you charge over a thousand to my card. I think it's BS the way they are toying with the consumer. Yes most of us are kids waiting for Christmas morning but some of us need to be in the know of when our expensive products are coming to us.

Thanks....spoke to Microsoft...the agent gave me a shock by claiming my ship date is 06/30 (then why did I pre-order on 05/20). Requested to speak to his Manager and she was the first sensible person in a long time since I have dealt on this issue with MS. For others like me, pls note, she confirmed the SP3 will be delivered to us on 20-June (she did not give me the "ships by 06/20" crap). Said not to worry about the auto-expiration date on the PayPal transaction. Guess I will try to be patient until tomorrow and hope the transaction is completed, and the shipping notification sent - let's see if that happens!!!
