Windows Central Question

I need to map a drive to a folder on OneDrive for Business. We need this so we can't push users to the browser. I cannot add any folder using the mapped drive > choosing either folder or website as I get "folder you entered does not appear to be valid."

I've done the following but still have the issue:

Added site to trusted sites in Internet Options.
Unchecked the protected mode.

We also cannot install the OneDrive Business client on our PCs as we do not want users to be allowed to synchronize company data onto their local drives. OD allows up to 1TB of space so this would fill up a Surface tablet in no time.

Is there no way to do this anymore? What if we move all of our documents to the cloud? How do we access these documents quickly and easily with NON-Microsoft applications including open, copying, saving without either mapped drives or redirecting My Docs etc?
