WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Took a stroll through Central Park today. Normally would have posted pictures, but if you've seen one picture of autumn in NYC, you seen them all. Lol.

Samsung's partnership or collaboration (I can't remember which one is correct for this situation) with Instagram is awesome. I went to my team parade today and it was fun! I took short clips of parts of the parade and just having the option to instantly send it to Instagram (via the gallery app) without opening Instagram was so convenient.

There's also a camera mode for it as well, which I haven't used.

While there's those small bits about Huawei as a company that I just don't like (not talking about the being a backdoor for the Chinese government stuff) they make some really, really good hardware these days.

I can remember when their hardware was utter junk. It's very impressive how far they've come in the past few years. The Mate 20 Pro is really not going anywhere for me. Yes I still prefer the look of the Mate 10 series more, but it makes sense why they felt necessary to go in this direction with their devices.

So yeah, we all lose from a consumer perspective with Huawei getting all this geopolitical heat. I think that it would be a great time for them to clean up those little things that rub me the wrong way and be better for it.

That's smart business done right. They have to leverage things like this to keep their devices fresh and appealing as their customers expect it.

For all the heat I give the Mate 20 Pro, the only thing I'd change is the color I have. No, I didn't want the twilight one that everyone got. I would swap this blue for the jade green though.

Quite a week. The minor renovation on the house is done. The interiors feels more cheerful multifold now with a mix of a lighter coat of paint and clean tiles.
The downside is the cleaning work. We did some hacking to the wall, and dust do travel. Once the clean up is done, it's back to the nature and clean air and trees.
Haven't been to the farm in over a month. The pineapple has been calling out for attention....
The Great Pineapple Battle with the squirrels will commence this week

Nice to hear the work on the house is coming along.

Good luck vs the squirrels. I heard squirrel meat wasn't bad to eat...im not sure you'd go THAT far though...lol.

Was trying to pick up a Pixel 2 on the cheap to keep track of Google's work on Android but it fell through. Am almost tempted to get back another Essential phone but I don't know how long Andy's former mates will continue to support it.

I wished that they made an Essential phone 2 though and fit into that mold of the old Nexus devices. Something a little bigger than the old phone with upgraded internals that's more of a reference device. Do the 3 years worth of software supports the same way. Would they sell a ton? Likely no. But I think that if the camera was solid enough at launch and priced at $550-$600, they'd have a nice niche of folks.

I tried squirrel before very long time ago.... some herbal soup. Didn't really like it, and no it didn't taste like chicken.
I was working in a cocoa plantation. Crop loss can be substantial, so installing cages with triggered flaps was one of the things I was assigned... Caught a few, together with field mice and rats...
Nowadays, I'd prefer prophylactic measures rather than killing the trapping...

I think the best way for managing the itch is the close hard truth.

The industry is in a place where you can easily on the Android size on a hardware level find excellent options at an affordable price. When you pay for market ups, your paying for quality of the additional features. For example, a 3aXL is a great buy if you want the Google experience on the cheap and still have access to timely updates and a decent 3.5mm. For basic usage, the phone sails. For my usage, which has changed dramatically, my V40 (or the V35 before it) at the cost of purchase is just as good a fit as a Xperia 5 or a ZTE Axon 10 Pro. Better yet, I can find a great condition G8 for under $350 (US carrier version).

If it was back in the day, I'd get an ROG II + a Galaxy Active 2/Skagen Falster 2 and rock the hell out. Now, I could grab an old Pixel on the cheap and flip it to get a Pixel 4, but why do all that? I won't lie, a red Xperia 5 would look great in hand or a white/orange Pixel 4 too as a daily.

The point is as an enthusiast, the cost and hassle ain't worth it.

What's a good squirrel repellent other than bringing in some natural predators of squirrels?

I've never tried squirrel either, but I've known people who like it. I believe you that it's nothing like chicken.
