That's a problem I'd happily take on now, even though that may not be helpful for you in your circumstances. Good luck with that.
Had to turn that one down.

It's in Toulon, Alpes Cote d'Azur. Between Marseilles and Nice. Mediterranean lifestyle would've been nice... Oh well.

Too much of an upheaval to consider at this time.

I'm going to have disagree with this statement.

Science is born out of curiosity. Not belief. It's about questioning and looking for answers.

It's about finding consensus on something based on evidence and the willingness to change your mind if better evidence becomes available.

Science is not dogma. I know that in the medical field things are still in early days with evidence based medicine and dogmatic ideas prevail.

However, religion at it's core is belief. It's texts are dogma. Changes to religion is typically forced through change in mindset by society.

Religion evolves to keep itself alive.

Science evolves because that's what it does.
I believe that if I follow a set of strict guidelines and principles, I can satisfy my curiosity to continually question certain things that are out of my direct line of scope and control (science)

I believe if I follow a strict set of guidelines, it will allows me to live my life in a particular manner and handle situations that are outside of my direct line of scope and or control (religion)

Sounds like there is a lot more common between both. Devil is always in the details, or points of focus.
Perhaps it is I who have done the oversimplification here and the scientists and clergy are right. Maybe it's a cop out to take the middle road. Eh, that's my stance though - at least it allows me to walk in either camp temporarily when "appropriate".

Not sure I agree with those definitions...

I'm not into the whole war with science and religion.

They're completely different to me and to try and make them agree is simply messing around with words.

Science is play, curiosity, exploring, questioning and consensus.

Religion is not and I mean religion, not belief. There is a difference.

That's simplification but that's how I see it.

Religion has nothing to say about science or to add to it except to try to confine it or reduce it.

It's up to an individual if you want to know if science agrees with your religion but for me it doesn't and never will.

Wow! One of the most civil discussions of religion I've ever seen. We have a Muslim, Christians and an Atheist all taking part in a topic that has historically been the reason for wars and insane loss of life. I tip my hat to all of us.

That being said, I wouldn't make it as a Jew or Muslim. This Cuban loves pork way too much.

Well that's how it should be, just a discussion where no one's throwing his views down someone's throat.

Fun fact: Writing muslim with a capital M is actually considered highly offensive and degrading in my country. But I appreciate the sentiment, don't get me wrong.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't. As a non-native speaker I try very hard to follow the rules of grammar in English which call for capitalizing proper nouns. My apologies to the people of your country (Bosnia?).

Yes it is, Bosnia. Oh, I meant nothing wrong, just a a weird fact from a weird place.

Cuba you said? I'd really like to see Havana one day. I even saw some tourist offers for around 1000€, which isn't too bad for a 10 day trip.

I respect that.

I'm just saying thay there is a lot more belief at work in different areas...even in science. There are different types of belief, at least to me.

I'm not in the business of marrying the two, defending either...just have to thread the needle a lot, especially since I work at a Jewish hospital.

I'll agree to disagree with you.

Another long day. Trying to make plans and support people during this uncertain time is backbreaking work. Often, the kind that gets relegated to second class citizen status in lieu of medical...

Ah my sister sent me a text about the alleged point and goal of the virus from a guys perspective. The dude is saying stuff like children are being taught to kill themselves and that caring about climate change/environmentalism is a way to enforce population control. He had some strings for the other viewpoints but those points bothered me greatly. I can say that it seems like he did his research but a 30 minute video of the point of this virus is eh.

Time I can't get back.

I think I have fallen off of the MrMobile wagon. I generally appreciate that his style is different (with scripts and little geeky details), but I'm not interested in him at this moment.

It was interesting to see MKBHD move a 80" something TV by himself, though. OMG.

Caring about climate by killing people? That's like, eco-fascism.

I usually watch MKBHD's videos because of the quality and the work he puts in to make those. Most of them really look astounding. And I love the fact that a man has a bunch of ideas, like the auto-something series (maybe autofocus?), I enjoyed that very much.

As for Michael, it's not him that I don't want to watch, I'm just kind of bored with smartphones these days.

Apparently, they go hand in hand according to this guy. They are taught to care about climate, and write about dying to fit the "agenda". I didn't even know this was a thing.

I agree with you for both. I appreciate his range of stuff, he's interesting.

Same for Michael. I also feel less interested in it. I would let it play, and then mute it.

I fell off the Brownlee bandwagon when he called the U Ultra a "waste of space". Didn't need to go that far. He had gone in my doghouse for taking the Oneplus 3T promotion and giving away units when that phone was on backorder for (4-6) weeks. Dude was big enough as is and Oneplus needed him more than he needed them..

I don't mind Fisher, I'm just more interested in tech people who actually push their devices through thorough usage vs tech overviews and first impressions.
