I respect MKBHD's hustle. He's been on YouTube for eons. So has Flossy Carter, who does overviews but knows more than he let's on. At least he's more entertaining and talks about practical daily situations to see how a phone performs.

Like everything else, you kind of grow out of one style of content.

I totally forgot about Flossy, he has a really unique style and is funny af. His reviews to me are pretty much, let's cut the crap, this is what the phone is like, this I like, this is garbage.

And the name he gave for Xiaomi's second space... Had to google that, but man did I laugh.

And the cat is so cute. I'd spell his name but, I'm having issues pronouncing it, let alone spelling.

I fell off the Brownlee bandwagon when he called the U Ultra a "waste of space". Didn't need to go that far. He had gone in my doghouse for taking the Oneplus 3T promotion and giving away units when that phone was on backorder for (4-6) weeks. Dude was big enough as is and Oneplus needed him more than he needed them..

I don't mind Fisher, I'm just more interested in tech people who actually push their devices through thorough usage vs tech overviews and first impressions.

The U Ultra video was even named "A rant"? I'm too lazy to google. Haven't held the device itself, but there were plenty better out there. It was pretty though.

And the OP thing. That was not well thought through. He still gets called out, even today, for being an OP ******. He gave them a best phone award without wining a single category in his own awards. The best well rounded device? Okay. But, come on, it had to excell somewhere.

English ain't no language, man...just a contrarian's wet dream. Any language with the following already tells you to be prepared for a certified cluster****:

Rule: there is an exception to every rule.

There are exceptions to rules in many languages. English has issues because of it, but it's still, by far, the easiest to learn. Try learning German.

There's such chaos in the world right now. I'm not sure if there will ever be a "going back to the way things were".

What will be the new "normal" post COVID-19? No one knows.

I think we're going to be a lot wiser about who we shake hands with.

Cat's name is Xerxes (pronounced in garbage English as "Zurk-zees"). Famous Persian King, I think was where he got it from.

Today's been a reasonably slow day. Finnished 80% of my project for college, going to finnish it tomorrow. And I really need to shift to fifth gear with the studying. I'm lacking behind so much.

I was studying Japanese. I think that's harder than German. Polish ain't no joke either.

He's a bigger Apple fan boy. He's got an interview with Tim Cook on his channel. Again, he's on overviewer/first impressions guy. Nothing wrong with that, it just ain't for me.

Yeah, it's harder.

It was a joke. Because I was studying German for 8 years and failed miserably. Partially because of my lack of interest and attrocious classes.

Compare English classes with the German ones in our schools. They don't even come close. Books as well.

I enjoyed his other videos more than reviews. It's a shame Auto Focus went silent. Not that he'd be able to do it now though.

#THOTPROTECTION.

He uses the same for Huawei's dual apps. Both modes are really good. I'd do that if I had a work phone that I made personal calls on.

Just to be clear. I would never, ever force someone to take my view on this. I wouldn't and couldn't be mean to a person going through a crisis either (though I find that some religions see this as an opportunity to convert).

If anyone ever wanted to know my point of view and why I think the way I do I'd be happy to tell them. With the caveat that it's likely I'll offend them during this discussion

I know for a lot of people religion is a crutch a need but for me it's a distraction. It doesn't do anything for me. I'm happy to look at the world and the universe as is and see it in all its beauty and ugliness.

Yes, I'm as scared as the next person. I'm just as lonely in my own mind too. But i feel alive. I feel a part of everything because I am.

That's what keeps me going along with the desire to learn and view things differently. To experience life as life.

Being an atheist isn't easy but I wouldn't change it.
So I'll take a page from Rue for a second.

The GF has been watching these two documentaries. I'm very familiar with these things.

https://youtu.be/uBPn5oQNutI

It is not to use these things as a counterpoint. These are some of the more difficult elements of a religious group. I can pull other things from other religious groups. It's enough to have anyone not believe in anything. And some of the responses of people who have stay steadfast and "justify" certain ills will make someone not believe in anything.

This subject will always be complicated. I respect Rue for being comfortable in sharing his perspective but doing it in such a way where he understands these dynamics and what his own choices mean.

As for me, I just thread the middle - the hardest place to be in at times. This is complicated as all hell - make no mistake.

As much as people may see me kvetch about certain parts of the job, it is such a privilege and responsibility to work with people in their vulnerable states.

I've been having conversations this week with COVID-19+ patients who have been discharged home. The conversations are deep and heavy. I wish for those people who still don't take it seriously that they could hear what I hear and to walk in those shoes of the folks I'm working with.

Ain't no joke. Not even a bad sarcastic one.

So quick update for everyone.
My company is going to build 1M face shields for our Frontline healthcare personnel. Our facility has signed up for 40K in April.
Next Tuesday I'm going to go to work and help build how ever many I can. My team members are all going to do this to show our support.

We are donating these face shields for free via a non-profit that will distribute these to the hospitals that need them the most.

Two of our facilities will also build a few thousand low cost ventilators as well.

I hope you all are staying safe and healthy.
