Well personally...

I think bail outs are questionable.

I understand smaller and medium size companies suffering but these large corporations with highly paid CEO's can take a hit.

Unfortunately, that's not the way the USA works or any other country...
He's always had an axe to grind with the USPS (United States Postal Service). He's felt that they give sweetheart deals to Amazon. As always what he fails to realize are:

1) USPS still moves the most domestic mail in the country. There are some items by mail ONLY USPS can deliver.

2) USPS is the world's largest government run postal service.

3) With Amazon (and similar companies) building out more of its own internal shipping, you've taken away revenue from the postal service...revenue that has yet to be properly replaced.

4) Because of #1, things like mail order medications (certain medical supplies, etc) that a ton of people are at risk of not getting delivered if the postal service is closed.

5) If the post office goes belly up, everyone gets ****ed - see above.

How well USPS has been run is a different issue. But playing politricks with the postal service, when it has been documented how shirt they are on PPE, etc is a joke. This government likes to wait to the last minute to do stuff and use people's lives to cash the checks their stupidity tend to write.

My issue is that in typical US bureaucracy, everything moves slow and they don't do a good job of funneling the help directly to where it is needed. Plus, when you have a reactive administration, it amplifies all mistakes. This is why the money is running out of the act that was passed. This is why the system crashed during the first week of small businesses being able to apply.

They keep trying to do the trickle down economics here when we know it doesn't work because it's all about the high end people who can create jobs. It's why an old man like Bernie still has a fair point, as extreme as he can be in expressing his valid point.

I should point out that I wasn't suggesting that the US Postal service not be bailed out or helped.

I was referring to those companies with overpaid CEO's...

I know that. I just wanted it to be stated on record the source of Mr. Trump's beef with USPS and some of the consequences if USPS isn't helped.

Not all CEOs are snakes. Two to three weeks ago, during a weekly broadcast update to the entire hospital campus I work at, something interesting happened. Now, this weekly briefing is run by the CEO, the President of PR, Head of Infectious Disease and someone else on the board. They give updates on what's going on, some policy changes and recognizing staff (this part is new). I bring this up because there was an announcement with the top two positions at the hospital - the chairman and the CEO - will take 50% paycut during the crisis effectively immediately and that other 50% to be redistributed to some of the at risk front line workers.

This is a well known place. These two men are well known. They can afford to do it, realistically...and they did - even though they didn't have to.

Says something to me...even though I could be cynical and debate what that 50% means and looks like.

Wow, what a move.

Ah, to reenable HBO Now or not. I follow a lot of people who watch Insecure. Spoilers will be hard to avoid unless I use no social media for a whole day.

I'll see how I feel after I complete this assignment.

Edit: Reenabled, because this assignment is essentially done!
