A bit off topic but what goes great with coffee? Macaroons! This was taken at the absolute best French bakery & Coffee Shop in Toronto called Nad?ge. It was taken with my 1020, no editting
Actually took this pic just a couple minutes before I read there was a coffee pic contest. It's no fancy latte art, but a nice pic of my standard "utilitarian" cup of Joe...

I love my kids, but every Sunday I steal for myself an hour to head into the Swan Valley in Perth, Western Australia and get myself one of these #bliss #Yahava #perth #swanvalley #lumia1020
I've been taking photo's of coffee with my windows phone for a long time now. One of my first was taken in Oct 2011 with a Samsung Omnia 7 and it's an espresso made at home. That won't be my entry but I'll share it on twitter later. My entry is this espresso from The Hardware Soci?t? in Melbourne Australia. They make an awesome breakfast and coffee generally in Melbourne is quite good, this one unfortunately wasn't totally up to scratch. Consistency, color and length was good. Taste was a bit sour. Sharing the pic though cause it was one of the better photo's I've taken. It was taken with a Lumia925 and edited with Nokia Creative Studio.
I'll mention that the best espresso I've found so far in Australia is from a place called The Belasyse in Perth. Noel the barrista has mastered an espresso as if it was served in a bar in Rome. I'll share a pic of that coffee through twitter as well. I'm mentioning all this as yesterday I had a twitter conversation with Sam about bad coffee in the US. He believes there is good coffee there yet I have been to the US a couple times and never found any, cappuccino or espresso. I probably hadn't been to enough places to find one but can anyone (preferably an Italian) vouch for Sam that there is good coffee in the US?
This is totally staged... obviously. I was thinking about a shoot for this (I want to practice more camerajitsu skills) and inspiration struck in the store... I was at the wrong store, unfortunately, so I ran across town to get to the store with the bulk coffee section. I chose a mocha caramel brownie roast for the darkness of the bean and the nice confectioner's wax coating to give it some gloss... A few props later, some set staging and soft indoor lights, and I was ready.
Taken with a Lumia 925 via Nokia Camera App. Edited through Nokia Creative Studio to polish the black and white effect, arrange depth of shadow and focus.
So the upper one was shot with a Lumia 1020 in my favorite local coffee shop in Cleveland, OH. No filtering. They roast, grind and brew the beans themselves! This was a latte (I know, their portions are small, but the beans are intense), brewed on site and finished with locak whole milk. YUM.
Second photo was taken at home with my then-brand new 1520. Lomogram filtering was used. I have prepared the latte macchiato myself and killed it myself! Tazo means nothing actually, as I was not using Starbucks/Tazo branded ingredients, I just like that Bodum-made glass for the handling!
technical info. Used light painting = long exposure and flaslight in hand. Lumia was in tripod with Lumia 1020 battery grip.
Converted and little adjusted in Lightroom (in desktop PC)
Spent some night with my girlfriend and her sisters on a Caf? in Cebu, Philippines.
Taken with a Lumia 1520 | Nokia Camera. Did crops and slight adjustments using Adobe Photoshop Express.
Story:
I don't know if this would count as a story. But this is what I had when I first went to to Starbucks. This was the first Starbucks cafe in our city
Took the picture from Lumia 920. No editing, just natural. Just normal camera app.
