WM10 release build (10584.218) issues and solutions

I wish I had done a search for something like this before doing the update. I have all sort of issues post the restart after updating to this. All apps disappeared and some wont return. Here Drive sat nav not working now.

Its taking hours to get the apps back onto the (640XL dual sim unlocked) thats before going in and updating the settings or personal info. Why is it so difficult?

Tried contacting Microsoft but thats like pulling teeth. I really liked my phone but since its go to windows 10 its just been getting harder and harder to resolve issues. I want a phone that just works not a project that needs hours spent just getting back to some semblance of a workable thing.

all the devices that were left off the official release are not going to stop receiving insider builds, they just won't go pass 10586.xxx releases
so, no new features (redstone) but theyre getting performance improvements and bug fixes via 10586

Same for me and I'm even running it on Lumia 1320. Very responsive compared to previous build. Battery last even longer compared to win 8.1. I couldn't believe it at first, but so far I have no problem. Feels like they've release the official update to us old lumia phones which doesn't not included in the list of eligible lumia to get windows 10 update. Good job to windows insiders. Kudos to Gabe Aul.

Agree with you. I'm using it on my lumia 1320 and no problem whatsoever. Run smooth compared to previous build and battery?.. Wow! Battery last longer compared to when I was in win 8.1. Great build indeed. Happy with it even though MS did not release it officially to some old lumia phones. Great job win insiders.

2. windows logo still missing from start screen, when in multitasking mode

3. lock screen lag when you swipe down from pin entry numpad.

4. my device is dual sim , so after update and hard reset i have no message icon now on the 2nd sim message app. its only a blank tile . i tried multiple times unpinning and then pinning it back but with no help.

I too have noticed #2 and #3. I haven't noticed #4, but that might be because I have both my phone tiles and my messaging tiles linked.

Instead of--or perhaps in addition to--listing issues with Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile here at WindowsCentral.com, shouldn't we list them in the Windows Feedback app? That way, Microsoft finds out about these issues. I don't know whether anyone at Microsoft browses WindowsCentral.com.

Anyone having battery issues on the new build? Until yesterday I was really impressed with the battery life...about 3% every hour with the phone on stand by. After the latest update I am getting about 4% every half an hour. Anyone going through the same pattern? I tried a full discharge last night, but no luck. Lumia 930 here btw. Thanks!

With Diagnostic and Reporting turned down to "Basic" I'm in the 1.5% per hour or so range. I'm reliably getting 48 hours out of this build, which I think is excellent.

Cancel the pending apps form store list, that happens when you don't tap yes when phone ask you to delete previous installation apps in sd card.
You always tap yes, so phone can download and install them again cleanly. If you tap no, phone is obliged to instal again in phone memory, so they doubled

Maybe you're right but not in this case. In my case in the store the double apps are listed without any icon for pausing/canceling/resuming the download.

Sounded like a good idea but I cant find said Feedback App. I did try ringing Microsoft but this was unsuccessful too. I wonder where the official feedback is done or maybe they rely on some developers and hope that this represents us all.

I have some freezing once in a while on lumia 1320, not sure if it's my sd card that could be slow. The problem does get better with this build.

Agreed on the fact that the having the all apps list shadding problem fixed makes the phone seem more polished!!! Plus that bug made us fell that MS was dropping the ball since this seems minor to fix but kept happening build after build. .218 seems good enough to really be a production build, none of the others seemed quite there yet. There are still improvements to be made, but overall it is quite good!

Hello! I have problems with the Microsoft Edge app trying to download files from the Facebook app. When I updated the phone it worked fine but now it doesn't move from 0%. But when I download a file from Edge there is not any problem at all. Any ideas of what is the problem? Thank you

I have difficulty to click on forum links on http://forums.bigsoccer.com/ , it's not as smooth as on other sites. Anyone has the same problem, it's been like that through many builds. Ive reported to edge feedback alredy, hope they can improve it.

I was on Fast Ring 10.0.14322.1000 and that build was unusable, app crashes everywhere....8 apps out of 103 apps worked...so i WDRT'd back to 8.1 and updated to 10.0.10584.107 then to .218. the issue that I'm facing right now is that i don't receive text messages while connected on WiFi. when i disconnect from WiFi, all texts get received.
otherwise, its a solid build, fast, fluid, not much complaints

I'm about to connect my phone to a charger after third day of light - to - moderate usage. Still 21% left. I think battery life is very good now. Funny thing is, that it was significantly worse for first 3-4 days after OS upgrade. And after these days it's OK now (Lumia 930).

I said everywhere: phones are like notebooks or desktpos, needs two days for syncing and caching. Then, they reach the maximum more and more
