The "Properties" section on the Nokia Care Suite aren't being populated.

The files are in this folder:
C:\ProgramData\Nokia\Packages\Products\rm-820

What do I need to do to complete this?

Please help.

Did you chose your device (File - Open Product) ... and did you click "Programming - Recovery" after that ... then you should see, unless there is a mismatch ...

Just an FYI, I did another hard reset and this time I let it sit on the cogs for a long time and then just held volume down, power, and camera and then it finished the hard reset soon after. That's an improvement.

I bought the phone used and did a hard reset which lead to the phone being stuck on the cogs for hours. So I installed and setup all of the hardware correctly, but I can't get the firmware to update. After I connect the lumia to the computer, I hold vol.down+power, hit retry on the computer right after vibrate and hold vol.up, then 3-5 seconds later its back on the cog/lightning screen and the "device has disconnected" window with the reply button pops up. Cannot get past this step.

Also I noticed the video gave different directions (he says to hit retry THEN do vol.down+power). Help?

Just finished the process. I didn't have a c:\programdata folder, but in the app there's the option to download online. I did that and it worked like a charm.

I fixed my issue, apparently this process doesn't work with USB 3.0. I finished the recovery, and it worked! Thanks op

thanks so much to itxjobe for this.

cannot believe that this is actually even necessary in the first place. last night my battery went from fully charged to off in about 4 hours (battery app's told me.) So i did a hard reset and bricked the phone. found this and fixed it - thankfully.

I actually love Microsoft, used to work for them in the UK. Could not be more loyal to their products and so on, defend them daily.

However, due to battery problems, shoddy apps, bricking problems, etc, etc, etc...

I will be buying a Samsung Galaxy S4/3 if they do not win me back with an incredible update that fixes the phone's everything by the time my contract runs out.

I have the same problem today. Does this method remove the dependency on the network? How do we get updates going forward is it as simple as checking updates? One last thing the first post in the OP has a version 1232.2109.1242.0001 is the latest one or should we be using a different one now?

So been about a year since i messed with windows phone last used when lumia 900 first came out. Was using nexus 4 and loved it but had an android phone for work and figured i would get a lumia 920 to give it a try again with wp8. I get phone and guy not sure howto reset so after getting home i goto reset phone. Guess what it bricks. This thread helped me fix it but as a long user of android since g1 this is a very upsetting first impression to have coming back to wp to have this first thing i have to do

Hi folks,
Im new to the forums and have just recently bought my LumiA 920. (Black).
I bought the phone sim free from phone masters UK. The phone came from HK but when I look at the box it is labelled with Polish text.

I has been working fine but I wasn't able to get any latest updates with it. So I tried the Nokia Software updater and it told me I did infact have an update to receive. I downloaded it and it all installed fine but now it has added a branded polish network logo (Plus +) during start up. The phone seems to be working fine but it just annoys me now that I have this branded logo.
Can I use the NaviFirm+ 1.7 to flash it to a generic UK (sim free) firmware with no branding?
If so can anyone give me an Idea as to which version I and description to look out for?
It is the RM-821 (Black) version I am using.
I am also on the 3 network.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

I tried the hardware method for my reset fix and it worked.
I actually took the SIM out twice because I was getting the same cog screen but the second time I waited about 5 minutes and it is restoring my phone right now!
And the find my phone setting is fixed! Thank you all for being a part of this thread and big thanks to creator.
