May Day in Europe is so much different from our Labor Day in the states, it's Monday, September 1, 2014 in the states.

A couple of years back, I was in France for May Day and I wore one of my IBEW Union T-shirts to a couple of the rallies and I was bombarded with questions about labor unions in the states. There's a real feeling of solidarity in Europe on May Day. We made friends with a lot of other working folks that we still stay in touch with.
The first of May (worker day) is a great day. It`s a great cause behind it.
Unfortunately it`s also a date where mostly younger people protest against rising of unemployment (among other problems) which is understandable. The problem is it gets often violent, but that's a another story.
But the majority of people enjoy it with there family and friends peacefully.

Lunch was simple today, potato leek soup and salad - barley with corn and asparagus, grilled tofu with bell pepper and onion, whole wheat penne with tomato, parsely, olive oil, tomato, jicama slaw. Our salad bar is pretty awesome so I get to mix and match:)

Tonights dinner, Chicken Tenders for myself and Potato Skins for my wife. Our local tavern has 89 cents chicken tenders on Thursday night, but I've never tried them because I was expecting something that looked like a chicken mcnugget from McDonalds. Boy, was I wrong. I ordered 5 chicken tenders. Each one had a big piece of chicken breast.. I could only eat three of them and took two home.

I've seen that Sierra Nevada Pale Ale in the store many times, but I have never tried it. Now I have a reason to try it in a couple of weeks.

We have friends in Baltimore, Maryland and they have a lot of craft breweries around them. Last time we were in Baltimore we had a blueberry beer and it was really good and had a light blue tint.

Mmmm...
A handy list there!
Sounds like the red from Spain is less dry or sweeter than some reds.

Kind of noticed in Europe the vino is pretty full bodied...
I was warned while traveling thru Europe to enjoy the experience and don't guzzle like the typical American!

Lol

We've tried a few of those. If you like Chardonnay, Clos du Bois Chardonnay is pretty good for the price.
