I also don't get what the problem is with the music hub. It's a thousand times better than it was. I have zero issue with using it and its easier to actually create playlists.

8.1 preview for me would have been perfect if they

Had kept the original pictures hub
Improved the look and functions of email. Still looks pretty spartan but at least they didnt make it worse. Getting to different email folders should be made quicker.

I haven't done a phone reset yet so maybe some lil things might clear up.

Overall its a big improvement over 8.0 and I am pleased with the stability and speed. Nothings degraded performance wise on my Lumia 820.

Its crap. Even,Daniel said so. At least for me it's gotten faster so far.

also I just want the wp7 music app back, this new one is seriously gonna start making me dislike WP considering how much I listen to music. I have been on WP since 2011

wait for the app update before you get out your pitchforks lol. The people hub still works for viewing feeds and stuff. You can still do all twitter related stuff on it. You can still view all your contacts recent social posts on it. Facebook or otherwise. They probably took out photo updates because the people hub made this redundant with its new large photo option. Again though. Listening to music isn't so bad. I just the new app and have pretty, much gotten used to it.

You missed what I'm saying. Pre-8.1, you had a setting to where you could unlock the phone, hold down the Search button, and Bing would come up. You didn't have to actually swipe the wallpaper away. I used that feature a lot, as someone would ask me something, I'd double-tap to wake, hold down Search, and be at Bing. I'd like to have that back, as it's more-efficient.

This is how Cortana still works, at least for me. I double tap to wake, hold down search and it brings up Cortana.

Works like Android now, like half of the things in 8.1. Utterly unnecessary to change.

Do you have more than one keyboard? If so, go to settings > Keyboard > Advanced > Tick the "Show a comma key when available".

In mine, that option is disabled.

The only thing I don't like is that all Games are listed in the App list and the Games Hub doesn't work anymore.

So, I'm sincerely disappointed. Have tried Cortana, it's nice, but not willing to sacrifice keyboard functionality in order to have it at present.

Other than that, I like the tile background and I think I'll get used to the swipe keyboard, but while they give with one hand they take away massively with the other.

1. Facebook and Twitter integration. They aren't any more. I used to post to both simultaneously with my live tile... No longer available.

2. Calendar list view. Sure, add week view, but why remove the other view?! I not have to add a tap to edit my next appointment (which I do frequently), and if I have more than three items today I cant see them till I tap.

3. Notifications. I need to change the order for this to be useful. Having email at the top means everything is way down the bottom in the morning after i receive a ton of mails, making it impractical at best. I want emails in there, but at the bottom. Native twitter would be good again too...

4. Birthdays' from Facebook. Thanks for the wake up at midnight last night. Oh wait. No, thanks for nothing. Why would I need to be notified AT MIDNIGHT no less of a passive event. Let me turn the notifications off for this but still see it in the calendar (list view). If is have 2 birthdays then I cant see any other calendar appointments. See point 2.

5. Games. Why in my main list?? No more game notifications on home screen (yes, it was buggy at best, but fix it, don't remove it)

6. Calendar - no longer can choose a default post time - defaults to All day which is not useful.

7. Calendar - no longer can see which calendar as default. I post to multiple calendars so would really like to see which I'm posting to!

8. Cursor selection just does not work. It's now awful.

Multiple keyboard, remove Cortana from the app list. I had 2 keyboards before. But had to remove all Non US keyboard in order to invoke Cortana

I have Cortana installed with two keyboards (UK & US) and the region format of the phone set to the UK. Personally for me I had to have the US English keyboard enabled (it had to put be 1st in the list) and the region set to the US (that's a no brainer as Cortana is US beta only at the moment) otherwise Cortana disappears from the app list, start screen and your search key invokes bing instead. I will upload screenshots once I have access to my laptop later on.
