Just started playing with my 830 coming from an N900. I am liking the size of the phone, can't get a cover for it anywhere though, will need to order one from China via Ebay. I am having a problem with facebook, it keeps closing. Has anyone else had this?

I did a reset on Friday and the camera hasn't been operating while locked since. How weird that a simple reset would solve this!

Edit: False alarm. Still loads while locked. Baffling.

If you enable hold camera button to wake up it overrides -prevent accidental camera launch when phone is locked. if you want prevent accidental camera launch when phone is locked then you have to uncheck both of those or uncheck hold camera button to wake up. it shouldn't work that way but it's a workaround

Anyone who's been experiencing reoccurring random freezes and reboots on their 830? I've been experiencing it since the first week of owning this phone. Tried to reformat the SD card because it keeps on saying that there is an error on my SD card. I already formatted the SD but it's still there. Also I have leaking light on the bottom edge of my screen.

It's pretty common. Almost every second user has this kind of problem with their 830. Hopefully upcoming update will solve this.

I'm in the lucky fifty percent then. No random freezes or reboots so far!

Same here, other than the nonfunctional Cortana button (I don't want to take the screen protector off to see if that is the problem) - my only problem has been getting my iTunes music library onto the phone.

Weird. I have a screen protector and launching Cortana has never been a problem for me. Have you got a matte or a clear one?

I've just seen the weirdest thing. Either the accelerometer stopped working (unlikely) or the operating system couldn't detect it.

I became frustrated when a webpage wouldn't rotate so I checked the rotation lock setting. It was off. Closed the browser, tried again, still nothing. Then I opened a random photo. Still stuck in portrait. Finally, I opened the Level app. "No accelerometer present"?!

Luckily restarting my phone fixed it. Hopefully it's just a one time thing. I can't reproduce it so maybe I'll never see it again 😉

Had that happen on a Trophy of mine -- but it ended up completely out pretty quickly. Thankfully yours would be within warranty still.

I just found out I cannot use my 830 with gloves. The screen doesn't respond.

Edit: It works, but it takes a while...

I hope so, it keeps on happening. I've been experiencing 2-3 freeze and forced restart lately. It's getting annoying. It's worst than the lag on my Android.

Just curious, all you people facing random freezes an reboots, do you have any of your commonly used Apps on SD card?

Had my 830 for a couple of months now. Its unlocked model RM984 and I'm not using any SD cards. 4G and Wi-Fi always on.
Great phone but couple of issues here.

First, the phone freezes and reboots every once and awhile. Usually while reading something like a forum on Windows Central app or similar. Happy to see that the phone is quick to restart...
It never reboots on its own on the table but while holding and using it. And I'm not being hard on it...

The other annoyance is the Cortana that pops up by it self. Even thou I'm not touching the search button at all, it might open the Listening...screen. It happens very often when I'm touching the power button with my thumb to put the phone to sleep mode, then laying phone on the table, but then I hear the familiar sound all it does is wakes up the Cortana. Or when I'm holding the phone on my hand and using WhatsApp, it might trigger the Cortana. And I'm pretty sure I don't touch the search button at all bc I can see my finger all the time.
My wild guess is that the phone gets some kind of a short circuit while in my hand and it makes it act strangely. Just like in the antenna gate with the iPhone the antenna didn't work if the hand was misplaced.

Third nag is the opening you put against your ear while talking on the phone. It seems like my hair tends to stick to that opening and I sometimes feel a slight nip. This is actually nothing big, but as I use my older 920 as my work phone, I have never felt anything similar with it. I guess its all in my head (that pun!!!).
