Don't apologize about your English, it's really good! I'm a typical American - I speak only one language, so I'm really envious of people like you!

I find the back button to be erratic in its function. Sometimes it goes back within the app I'm in, sometimes it takes me to the previous app. That is true even within the same app, it will behave differently from time to time. I haven't been able to make sense of it. This is the kind of thing I expect them to address in Windows 10.

I have a problem with video lag now and then, the picture freezes and portions of it get pixellated for a second or two. My theory has been that it is because I save video and photos to the SD card. But I haven't tested my theory!

Good luck, I'm glad you like the phone. This was my first WP after 3 iPhones and a Palm Treo! And I am very happy I made the switch ...

Well thank you
I have no problems understanding English, just writting it correctly is the thing that I'm not that good at :excited:

I had no problems with the back button till now, it only bothers me that it has a small area, where it actually works. So sometimes I have to tap it more times, till I hit directly on the arrow, or it will not go back. Or maybe I just must be more accurate :sweaty: Anyways, I hope the same problem as yesterday is not going to occur to me in future.

While with the video problem, it seems like we have the same issue. I really dont like the freezing of the picture, because it ruins the whole video for me...it could be the SD card, as you pointed it out, I also store videos there. Gotta try it out, thanks!

All in all the phone is the bomb, yes. I considered buying a lumia 830, 930, 1020 or 1520.
The 1520 is sure awesome, but it's just too big for me. Even the 830 is much bigger than my previous phone, so I needed to addapt.
1020 wasn't available in my country anymore, because it is a 2013 model, as they said to me, so the final decision was between 830 and 930.
The 930 was almost twice the price of 830 here and it bothered me, that it didnt have a removable battery (if it goes dead you must take it to the repair shop to replace it, or do it yourself--this wasn't an option) and i also read something about a heat problem by many people...so that's why I decided to take the 830, that had all I wanted, the camera is sure awesome, even if its just 10Mpx..I dont regret a thing.

But in the future, we will see how the 830 will defend its honor of a good phone.

Again took a video today and it frooze two times for like a second. Posted the video in the "Pictures / Videos taken with your Lumia 830" thread and tried to open it in VLC player and in Youtube, it seems flawless, just when I play it on my phone, the frozen parts still remain...

So, any suggestions what is the problem here? :unhappy:

I think part of the problem is that the button illumination turns off a little too soon with respect to the ambient lighting, which can make the back button a little hard to find in bright daylight.

Not sure if mentioned before, but I just received my 830. I'm coming from a 630 so maybe it's down to the size difference, but I'm finding it impossible not to constantly put my finger right over the camera lens when holding it in one hand. Interested if anyone else finds this or if I'm holding it in a funny way.

My index finger slightly touches the camera ridge but not the lens. The ridge's circumference feels too uncomfortable to place finger across it.

For me the problem is that I was having the issue with the Cortana button not working, which apparently is very common. It work OK with a bare screen, but not at all with a screen protector. So, I punched holes in a protector over the Cortana and Back buttons. I think the hole over the Back button is not perfectly centered so sometimes my finger misses it - it seems the button have a very small "sweet spot" so is easy to miss.

Not at all. The problem lies with my laptop itself. As I said, I don't feel any current while plugging in the adapter. It happens only when I connect the phone to the laptop via USB. Also, when I touch the open end of the USB cable while the other end is plugged into the laptop's USB port, again I get a shock. Same for the VGA port and the headphone jack. I firmly believe that laptop is the culprit

And btw, all the electrical installations in my house were renewed not more than two years ago. So, no doubt they are perfectly healty.

Ohh, now i see that's on your laptop, It happens on my desktop not because of the quality of my installation, it's probally bc my building is missing a ground wire to prevent electric shocks from electronic devices.

Stopped believing that this phone will run without problems anymore.... Got mass dead/stuck pixels again after 2 months... this is the third time this is happening. Looking to get money back and leave this phone behind - so many faults....

Love the phone tho, overall. Now I will wait for a flagship windows 10 device and see - or I have to jump back to android again.

i have huge problems with recording videos, when i use lumia camera (5) on 1080p the video becomes "laggy" EVERY 20 sec. it is sooo annoying especially because i chose to get this phone especially for its camera/movies ... :/

i've already tried everything, reinstalling, using different card/internal memroy, disabling the dolby sound, etc.

the lagging problem occurs only with lumia camera(5) app, the phone works just fine with any other app including lumia camera classic (4).

the lagging is visible when playing the previoulsy recorded video on my phone, my computer, my tv so i guess it is an app bug/problem.

when i change the recording quality from 1080 to 720 it works fine, but i really want to use the 1080 quality on lumia camera 5 app and i am angry AF that it isn't working :/
i don't really want to use any other quality or any other app, simply because i quite like the color enhacement (or whatever it is, that makes the photos & vids looking so nice) on lumia camera 5, i am so disappointed :(

I read recently that this issue may be resolved in Lumia Camera Beta. Perhaps worth a shot.

thank you thank you thank you ! so much ! :) you've made my day, lumia camera beta works perfectly, once again big thanks !

small tip for other "technologyproof" lumia users: i couldn't find the beta app in the WP store (i don't know why), i got it by searching for it at windowscentral site, there is an article with the link to the app (qr code that you scan with your phone), the article says the beta app is only for windows 10 and only for lumia 640 and 1520 but i am pretty sure that i have the 830 with windows 8.1 and the beta app is available so i downloaded it and it works great !

Good day Mr Bean. From your comments I read here I take it that you are still using a 830 and kept your 720 as a back up? Correct assumption? Greetings from sunny but chilly Kalk Bay.😄

Greetings Pieter from chilly and rainy Cheshire UK 😊 No, I returned the 830 due to poor Glance performance and temperamental operation of the navigation buttons. So I'm back using the 720 but would really like to upgrade...if only the 830 didn't have these niggling problems! But I've tried 2 now and both the same. Hope you have a better experience and look forward to getting your report 😊

So I recently got my Lumia 830. I've noticed that my battery drains quite fast. Its a fairly new phone so I don't know what's wrong. In one and a half hour it's drained from 100% to 75% and I've been lightly texting (around 2 texts every 20 minutes including WhatsApp). Any help?

Check out the Battery saver app. It displays a list of apps according to their battery usage. There you may find what's causing the drainage. Also go through the settings app and check if unnecessary services are on. Turn them on only when needed. Ex. Location, motion data, Bluetooth, NFC, etc. Also you may reduce the screen brightness when in low lit places.

My 830 needs a single charge before going to bed every night.

That's strange, I have BT on constantly syncing my FitBit, I always have NFC on (cause can't be bothered to turn off), my brightness is on auto, motion data is always on and syncing and location is always on. I run my business and personal life via my 830 with constant emails (via ActiveSync), calls and texts and at least 30mins to 1hr of gaming and I still have around 1/2 battery remaining at the end of day.

Personally I've stayed away from WhatsApp as my partner complained that it drains an iPhone 6... So that might be an issue, and that's not a phone issue (if it affects an iPhone).

Since Update 2 (touch wood) I haven't had any issues.

G.
