Nokia Lumia 928 keyboard autocorrect defect

For some reason swiping keys turns on autocorrect now. I don't know why. I can't find the option anywhere. It takes up more real estate, lags my phone, and is really irritating. Also the keys are less accurate to type now. This's exactly why I switched to this phone. Never been a problem before this update. Anyone know how to shut this autocorrect garbage off?

Have you tried looking under settings >> keyboard settings?

I've tried there but thanks for the suggestion. It either isn't there or is named something unintuitive and foreign to me.

Did you check under SETTINGS > keyboard the advanced setting
Or did you tap the language because than you also get a list of settings.

Okay this is super weird. I can get to that screen but mine is worded slightly different and they're almost all grayed out and unchecked. English (United States). Should I try switching to UK English you think? Does it even matter? This is so bizarre.

Yes you could try. And if this works you could uninstall the US keyboard and than install it again.
