Ten disappointing things about Windows 10 :(

You're literally the only one who has any serious so called "issues" with Windows 10. Every major blog even ones who aren't MS friendly said Windows 10 is great if you look pass the bugs which would be fixed in time

Literally no one knows what "literally" means.

As for the bugs, it does seem that this release was a case of "Too Soon."

Note: I haven't installed 10 yet (hopefully this weekend), but just being able to skip 8 is worth a few bugs for me.

The tablet experience is trash.

It's not "too soon".... I've been messing around with it and it's way more stable then windows 7 or Windows 8 at launch imo. I also upgraded at launch from Vista to 7 and then 7 to 8.

Believe me, ive seen MS facebook and its burried in w10 dislike.

Because Facebook is a valid place to learn anything.....people just like you love to complain. More people complain then say anything is good on the Internet

Actually it is. I regularly snap three apps side by side on my SP3. Admittedly, one of those apps was Skype. Microsoft destroyed that experience as well.

Fast app switching by swiping my left thumb from the left edge quickly is a superb feeling. With W10... that's over with.

I'm glad to have rolled back. W10 is one big beta platform and user collection system. Pass!

I call this bull****. Just browse my message history, i did not complain a single time about Windows 8. With Windows 10 however i don't even know where to start.

All the hidden menus and swiping in Windows 8 was a big problem for most people. I've had to support it at work and with friends and family at home. They could never get used to all the hidden menus which is why they wanted the start menu back so bad. This is even on dedicated tablets but even much more on laptops and desktops. I learned it and got used to it but now that I use Windows 10 I don't miss the charm bar or swipe left to right to switch apps. If you have a lot of apps open you have to do a lot of swiping to get the program you want and then sometimes I would swipe too fast and pass it up and then have to go all the way through all the open apps again. And that swip from right and the back left to get the list of open apps was so cumbersome. I much prefer seeing a whole screen task view than the way Windows 8 handled app switching.

I think Microsoft did the most user research in developing Windows 10 than any other version of Windows. This leads me to think that most people didn't like how Windows 8 handled things for tablets or desk tops. They're trying to please the touch and mouse users and they're never going to make everyone happy. I think that the most productive people just learn to adjust and move on.

Everything including the start screen? I never disliked it but just never used it. Microsoft Edge is arguably the best browser on Windows 10, faster, Bluetooth is easier to turn off and on ( I never bothered with we blows 8.1 since it was hidden in settings), the start menu*, Cortana which is better then other things like it ( Siri and Google Now) changing WiFi networks, action center, calculator app ( I use it a lot and now it has other features like finding out how many ounces is a gram or etc) and a better UI imo. I never disliked windows 8 but windows 10 is so much better


* I never complained about it not there in Windows 8 but I like that it's back though.

There's a very good explanation for the bad Windows 8 reviews. Microsoft released it as more of a tablet OS for tablet form factor hardware that did not catch on in terms of market share. Many people therefore had desktops, and Windows 8 was a horrible experience for desktop only users.

The few that did have something like a Surface were very few in number. Add to that, Microsoft never really showed off how to get the most practical use out of its touch first based OS. I learned from a very knowledgeable sales person, and after that day I became hooked on gestures, and bought each Surface since.

Once the, more in size numbered, desktop users became too vocal, Microsoft shifted it's strategy to appease them. Hence what we see in Windows 10. So whatever review you read really reflects relief from all the previous vexation of the desktop Windows 8 experience.

So, it's not as cut and dry as you like to think whereas W8=fail / W10=perfect. Microsoft is too disjointed as a company to make such contrasting views.

Their software products reflect the identity crisis that they perpetually suffer from. Example: 'Devices & Services', no 'Mobile First, Cloud First', no 'let's restructure again'. All within a year! I expect all that we discuss now to significantly change again in August 2016.
