Windows Central Question

outlook 2013 will not send emails after windows 10 upgrade

It receives email just fine and will send a test email when you are in advanced settings but will any emails created just sit in outbox. The error comes up and says " 8x800ccc13 cannot connect to the network verify your network connection or modem" Which is working of course as I'm online

If still you didn't sorted out this problem with the help of SFC? like me try this. it works great for me :)

Mostly Office Programs links are here C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft Office 2013

you will find 'Outlook 2013' shortcut (.lnk) file, right click on this link and click properties

Click 'Security'

Click 'Advance'

in new window. see Owner in second line, there is change link click on that

you will see third part of window, type your user name 'XXXXXX' (which is associated in Outlook Profile) and click check name, your name will appear

select that name, Apply and close back all windows,

Run your outlook again and 'Bingo' you will get rid of this problem.

Not able to solve this problem
Tried -
1) SFC
2) C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft Office 2013 - changed the owner name

Both did not work. Can you suggest any other solution.
thanks

The scan "fix" worked for me.

I'm surprised that such a major issue happened with a current microsoft product.

Thanks for the fix, although I am still considering going back to Outlook 2010 which always seemed better than Outlook 2013 to me.

Spent hours fiddling with settings to no avail, then found this lengthy thread with solution. Thanks so much !

I too find it astonishing that Microsoft would release an OS in 2015 with such a basic bug affecting the operation of email and an email client that THEY produced. Beggars belief.

Many many thanks to Rikthemonk. After purchasing a new laptop with windows 10 for my wife, then disappointed that outlook 2013 wouldn't send email, followed your advice, and now have a happy laptop and more importantly, a happy wife!! Cheers :)

Hi - I have this problem too! It started happening after I upgraded to Windows10 - thought it was perhaps a coincidence, but it seems many others are having the same problem. Has Microsoft released any patches or answered anyone's problem? :unhappy:

For those people that sfc /scannow doesn't work for you may like to try this.

I had this same problem on a new install of Windows 10. sfc /scannow did not fix the problem and said "Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations", After trying everything, including a reset, my next step was going to be a complete reload.

However, before I tried that I booted from the Windows 10 cd & went in to, 'repair your computer', then 'troubleshoot', then 'Advanced Options' then 'Command Prompt'. I renamed C:\windows\system32\mlang.dll to mlang.dll.old and C:\windows\system32\Windows.Media.Speech.UXRes.dll to Windows.Media.Speech.UXRes.dll.old. I then rebooted the computer, ran sfc /scannow which found and fixed problems this time and, much to my surprise, I could FINALLY send mail.

I had the problem and save scan did not fix it. The problem is the skype addin. Open outlook -> files -> options -> addins. Dubble click the skype addin, remove the check from the checkbox, save and close and close and reopen outlook. If it still doesn't work (but normally it does) uncheck the other addins and save. That's it

Just got a new HP laptop with Windows 10, November update. Installed Outlook 2007, created IMAP account, wouldn't send. Deleted IMAP account, created pop3, still wouldn't send. After 2 hours trying to fix, came across this thread. Ran the SFC command, deleted the pop3 account, recreated the IMAP, job done. Just thought I'd let people know that it's not just those who have upgraded to 10, but also on new equipment with it preinstalled. Well done for making an OS that doesn't work with your own products without problems !!!

I've been following this thread since Friday, when my email froze ( no traffic via the Mail App in Windows 10, Outlook would not load in Edge). Normal service on my Ipad, however.
I was reluctant to try the much-praised solution using "scannow", and, surprise surprise, everything is working normally today. However, advised by a very helpful chap at John Lewis, the Mail App is apparently not very strong: he advised downloading Windows Essentials, and just using the Windows Live Mail option. I've donethis with no difficulty, and all my Outlook mail has arrived in a pleasantly familiar email programme, just as I had it in Windows 7. It has also solved the ridiculous problem with emailing multiple photos which has plagued me( and many other users) with the W 10 Mail App.
I hope this experience is useful to others.
Best wishes
