Your most exciting feature you want on windows phone 8

NFC, mobile wallet, Would mobile to mobile payment be possible instead of using square??

pureview.

Hopefully adding background pictures.

Syncing between my WP8, surface and W8 desktop.

AND the new Xbox music

File access like Windows 8 (Metro)

That would allow me to sell this thing to many many people who just want to copy their music onto their device without Zune/Windows Music/Xbox Music/Whatever its going to be called!

This is not the feature I'm most excited about but I'm surprised no one has mentioned this anywhere before: Just like on Windows 8, I expect WP8 to have picture password. I think it's almost guaranteed. It makes sense and it'd be a very cool feature.

Am I the only one who's expecting this?
I also think that would be great to see, picture password

Full Backup/Restore Option. This means everything from app data/settings, log in data, apps, media (pictures/ringtones/videos/etc), wifi/bluetooth settings, to volume levels.

Screenshots. Maybe volume up/down at the same time.

A backup and restore option would be so nice. WP is a pain to set up a replacement device.

I am surprised to see that better notification handling/ notification center was not mentioned in any of the posts. Coming from iOS, I found the notification handling in Windows Phone is severely lacking. I would like to have a preview of the email (toast notification) regardless of the screen I am currently on. I would also like to see all my notifications in a central place (like iOS or Android). I am eagerly waiting for Windows 8 to make improvements in this area.

I think there would be one. Depends on da user voice thing and a swipe to the left to see nofications is one of the biggest ones. So I suspect there to be one.

Check out post #9. Notifications already stated, so I chose not to.

That would definitely be something I'd love to see.

An option to retain a WiFi connection when I turn the screen off.

Incredibly exciting, isn't it?

Has anything been said about pushing text messages from your windows Phone to the messages app on Windows 8, and being able to reply via your Windows 8 computer? I strongly feel they're going to do this, and I look forward to it :)

Yep, they really should focus on making the best out of windows desktop <-> phone communication. That would be such a killer feature and really hard for any competitor to catch up to. Just dont stop at messages, it has to be fully shared services.

I've been waiting for a very simple feature to show up since the very begining. In the music hub.. Gapless Playback!! Microsoft had it with Zune, and its been sorely missed. While they're adding that feature, they should toss in crossfadeing aswell :) And would it be soooo terrible to add Flac support natively?

-I'd also like to see Email notifications show sender and subject like incoming texts do.
-I'd like to see IE get forward and back options on screen. When I'm browseing the net, and have to exit IE, when i go back in and want to go to the previous page, the back button just takes me back to whatever app I was just in.
-In the messeging hub, I'd like to see if someone has recieved or is typing a response to my message, like in facebook or Iphone messeging. I know there are other apps that will do this, its about time the messeging hub can too.
-On the apps front. I'd love to see app purchases sync to all MS Platforms. For instance, I just bought FinalFantasy (awesome remake btw), I'd love to be playing it on the road, get home and load it up on my Windows 8 laptop or tablet, or go to a friends house and load it up on their Xbox , with the savegame synced to Skydrive. :P

I want actual multitasking. I hate that for example I'm writing a text and go home, then open the messaging hub, the text is not there, I have to go back again. This doesn't happen with IE but every other apps closes down when I open the notification again.

Also if I'm getting text and browsing the web I keep getting notifications right, and I click them and text then go home, enter internet explorer and repeat. When I hold back to multitask I have 4 windows of the same conversation and one of internet explorer. WTH is that garbage?

That would be cool. Is there something similar on another phone OS that you would say they could use as a model?
well, im afraid i cant direct compare to other OS's as WP7 was my first true 'smartphone' but the full back up akin to what I hear Apple offer would be really good- and is the piece of mind ive been waiting for. I believe it is coming, and im sure WP8 will get it sorted in their own way. The portability of all OS data from one handset to another via the cloud perhaps? including app configurations and tile layout? that's probably asking too much but hey... here's hoping!
