Hello everyone, I am a new user of the Nokia Lumia 1020 (bought it on Ebay from a seller in Hong Kong) and I love everything about the phone except for one thing; the camera makes noise. Whenever I use the camera, it creates a fan like, hiss noise that's only audible if you bring the camera to your ears. The noise doesn't bother me when taking pictures, but it is an issue when recording video. When recording video, the microphone picks up the sound created from the camera and completely drowns out the audio making it unbearable. If I recorded a video and played it, all you would hear is, "HISSSSSSSSS" or "SHHHHHHHHHHHHH."
I love the phone, love the camera, but the camera noise and not being able to record videos is a major letdown. I've read a lot around these forums and other places on the net about people having the same issues with the 1020's camera making noise and people have said it's because of the OIS of the camera. This may be true, but this is unacceptable if the noise is picked up through the microphones when recording video.
Does anybody know what I can do to fix this? Is there a problem with the camera module and maybe that needs replacing? Or is there a problem with the microphones? I have a feeling it's because of the camera module and replacements cost around $50 on Ebay.
