WP8.1 GDR1 - update downloaded couldn't be opened

Lumia 925 T-Mobile, just downloaded the GDR1. Now play with the phone. Btw the native folder is really cool, I have Nokia folder app but this is way better, easy and clean to use.

anyone have less than 3gb of free space?
according to the answer from microsoft "Also to install new update on the phone you need at least 3GB of free space on your phone, your battery have to be more then 50% full as well."

Umm, I had less than 3gb space in my 520 (~1.17gb free) and it still installed WP 8.1 update 1 without any problem.

I think the problem mainly exists in only the 925s(?)

Downloading a new keyboard language did NOT fix the error for me... it still won't install.

Someone want to tip off WPcentral so they can put it on the front page and get this issue some attention with MS.

Same error on Lumia 920 EE UK with black firmware and developer preview. Tried two times without luck

looks like majority of lumia 925 cyan are having same problem .Me too .waiting for fix for forum or Microsoft .Tried two times and changing language ,region.Gonna try last try by removing all keyboards and keeping just US keyboard.

Same problem as all y'all, O2 Uk Lumia 720 dev preview only installed, I have no cyan and no official 8.1, on my second attempt now but if it fails it is safe to say it is another screw up in the continual screw up the updates game !
If it succeeds... hazaaa !!

Second attempt failed (0x80188308) .... really !!!!!!!!!!!!! Now what ?

Just had a thought, my phone was set to install new dl to sd, so now changed to phone ! Its a possibility so trying again

I have it on my 920 but installed it using the us settings works fine but when I switch it to uk settings some apps will not open and cortana is just basic switched back to us settings until fixed

I Downloaded and installed fine on my 1020 Rogers Canada...but Cortana still doesn't work ("sorry, can't support your language" for USA or Uk English)...was excited to give it a shot dammit

Same problem. Lumia 925 with Cyan update here. Apparently it's a widespread problem.

I tried the following methods. None worked.

1. Changed region back to India along with Language. Did not work.
2. Switched to Spanish. Downloaded Spanish keyboard and speech. Did not work.

I am using Lumia 925 in India which is not tied to any carrier running Windows Phone 8.1 Developer preview + Lumia Cyan which I got before Microsoft pulled it back. OS version is 12397. I got more than 8 GB HDD space free.

Having this problem on a 625 on dp8.1 and Cyan.

My battery is full and have more than enough space.

Everytime: The download is successful. Preparing to install. Then the error that the download can't be read.

What gives?
